A hosted MCP server at https://finance-mcp.com/mcp that gives AI agents one endpoint for US stocks, SEC filings and fundamentals, US macro, crypto spot and options, and prediction markets. Agents use three tools: finance_discover, finance_inspect and finance_run. ### How do I connect Claude or Cursor? In Claude.ai, add a custom connector with the URL https://finance-mcp.com/mcp and sign in. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http finance-mcp https://finance-mcp.com/mcp, then authenticate from /mcp. In Cursor, add the same URL under mcpServers in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. The docs page has steps for every client. ### Does it cost money? No. Finance MCP never charges money. Each account gets 1,000 free credits once, shared by all of its API keys and OAuth sessions. finance_discover and finance_inspect are free. Each successful finance_run costs 1 credit, or 2 for FMP tools. Failed runs are not charged. ### What happens when my credits run out? When the balance is too low for a run, finance_run returns an insufficient_credits error with your balance and the cost, and nothing is charged. Discover and inspect keep working. There is no paid plan; if you need more credits, open an issue on GitHub. ### Do I need an API key, or can I use OAuth? Clients that support MCP OAuth, such as Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT, sign in through the browser and need no key. For scripts or clients without OAuth, create a key in Settings and send it as Authorization: Bearer fmk_... Both draw from the same account balance. Without any credentials, discover and inspect still work. ### Which markets and data are covered? US stocks and ETFs, US company filings and fundamentals, US macro series, crypto spot, candles and BTC and ETH options, and Polymarket prediction markets. Sources are OKX, Deribit, SEC EDGAR, Financial Modeling Prep (FMP), FRED and Polymarket, with Tiingo, Twelve Data and Finnhub behind the Stocks tools and FRED behind the Macro overview. ### How fresh is the data? Stock prices are delayed or IEX only, not a licensed real-time exchange feed. Crypto prices from OKX and Deribit are fetched at request time. Filings and macro series update when the SEC or FRED publish them. Some responses are cached briefly to stay within upstream limits. ### Are there rate limits? Finance MCP does not set its own per-minute limit; your credit balance is the cap. Each upstream source has its own limits, and Finance MCP caches some responses to stay inside them. If a source is busy, the run fails and is not charged. ### Are the connectors open source? Yes. The connector definitions and recorded fixtures are public at https://github.com/aowang-ai/finance-mcp-connectors. ### Is this investment advice? No. Data is provided for information only and is not investment advice. Check important numbers against the original source. ## About Finance MCP is built and maintained by Ao Wang (https://aowang.ai).
