Finance MCP documentation

Finance MCP (finance-mcp.com) is a hosted MCP server for financial data from OKX, Deribit, SEC EDGAR, FMP (Financial Modeling Prep), FRED and Polymarket.

Connect

MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP): https://finance-mcp.com/mcp. Authenticate with an API key as Authorization: Bearer fmk_…, or via OAuth. Without a key, discover and inspect still work.

New API keys start with 1,000 free credits. Agent instructions: SKILL.md. Tool catalog: /api/tools.

Tools

• finance_discover (free): find data tools by describing the task, e.g. "BTC spot price".
• finance_inspect (free): get one tool's input schema, output shape and credit cost.
• finance_run (metered): execute a tool. Each call costs credits (currently 1–2 per call); failed vendor calls are not billed.

Typical flow

finance_discover("ETH funding rate") → finance_inspect("okx#ticker") → finance_run("okx#ticker", { instId: "ETH-USDT-SWAP" }). Responses include billing: { billedCredits, balance }.

Check balance with GET /api/billing/balance (Bearer key).
